1. Laitmaswang, Meghalaya


The meaning of Laitmaswang is 'lait' means end of the slope and 'Maswang' means rock.


Laitmawsiang is a village located in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya state. The native language of Laitmaswang is English. The nearest railway station to Laitmaswang is Mirza and the nearest airport is Shella airport.


This place is now known as the garden of caves, waterfalls, ponds etc. this place will take you to a magical world. What to experience in Laitmaswang? a) Sum Syiem Falls:- it is said that Kings used to baithe in this waterfall.

b) Umdwai:- These caves are historical and are maintained by the local tribes.

Laitmaswang is the best place for people who truly enjoy the essence of nature and really loves adventure.


2. Doodhpatri, Kashmir


Kashmir is also known as heaven on earth. The name doodhpatri means Valley of milk. The nearest airport is Sheikh ul- Alam International Airport and the nearest railway station is situated in Ompora. The best time to visit is between May and September.


Doodhpathri however is a recent inclusion in the Jammu Kashmir tourist map. This is the reason that the place is not overcrowded and not many tourists visit there.


What to experience in Doodhpathri?

The pleasant weather, lush green grass which appears to be a green carpet, blue skies, mountains and adorable sheep's gazing at the grass.


3. Dr. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, Goa


Dr. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary is located on the western tip of the Island of Chorão along the Mandovi River, Goa.


You can visit this place by ferry which starts at the Ribandar ferry wharf, about 15mins drive from Panaji, the capital city of Goa.


Several species of birds have been recorded in the Sanctuary such as the little bittern, black bittern, red knot, jack snipe and pied avocet. You will also witness white egrets and purple herons, kingfishers, eagles, cormorants, kites, sandpipers, curlews, drongos and mynahs on regular basis.

4. Tuophema, Nagaland


Tuophema Tourist Village was set up in 2001 as a community effort by the people of Tuophema, for other tribes within Nagaland and beyond the state

The Touphema Tourist Village is one of the ancient heritage villages of Nagaland and is a recreation of a traditional AngamiNaga village.

The rooms and cabins are set up in such a way that it looks like traditional huts/cottages. All these huts/cabins are maintained by locals(without any government help)


The nearest Railway Station and airport is in Dimapur.


Touphema is famous for its Rice beer and Angami Sekrenyi annual festival which is celebrated in the village in February. It is a must-visit to experience the traditional village environment and also the authenticity of Naga culture.


5. Adalaj Stepwell, Gujarat


Adalaj Stepwell or Rudabai Stepwell is a stepwell located in the village of Adalaj, close to Gandhinagar city in Gujarat.


The nearest airport is Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel airport and the nearest railway station is Ahmedabad


It is considered to be one of the finest architecture in India, it was made in the memory of Rana Veer Singh(king of a small kingdom called Dandai Desh) by his wife Queen Rubadevi in the year 1498. It is said that the temperature inside the well is 6 degrees cooler than the outside.


According to legends the kingdom faced a critical shortage of water and to resolve the problem, king Rana Veer Singh decided to build a stepwell. The king started the construction work but could not complete it, as he died in a battle with the Sultan of Gujarat, Mahmud Begada. Mahmud Begada fell in love with Queen Rudabai (Rana Veer's wife) and wanted to marry her. Queen agreed to the proposal and married him. Mahmud completed the construction of the stepwell. After the completion of the well, queen Rudabai asked a few saints to take bath in the water making it a holy well. She then gave her life by lunging in the well.
